This is a new BMW 4 series convertible hard top. This is a good example of how we hardwire install front & rear dash camera.
The front camera mounting in top center of the windshield. The wire is run along the top cover and run along the A pillar.
The tricky part of the install is rear camera because of the wiring need to run and hidden along with the foldable hard top. Any wrong wiring route or miss placement. The convertible hard top will snap the rear camera cable juring opening & closing. If wiring not install properly, its will affect the operation of the hard top too. The proper way is to runs the cable along with the factory wiring (this wire on is specific car is factory rear window defost.) And use cable tie every couple inches to secure it. lastly, double check any wire interference by open and close the top slowly.
